CURLY HAIR
At Botanik we cut curly hair differently from straight hair. Why? Because it is different. We cut hair in its naturally curly state, which is dry!!!!!! We analyze the curl, we don’t pull it straight, iron it, wet it, or treat it anything like straight hair.
It takes one to know one, Tania has mixed-race curly hair and it changes often. So don’t be scared to get your hair cut anymore. Come on in and talk to another about your lifetime of frightful experiences, we are right there with you.
Styling and education around curly hair is also something we enjoy so be ready for that too.
PLANT BASED COLOUR (LOW TOX)
Plant-based colour is very different to the world of chemical hair colours. Hairdressers in this niche are more focused on the health of your hair in the long term and need to take this into consideration as well as your hair type, texture and colour more so than the average hairdresser.
At Botanik, we think of mainstream hair colour as paint, and plant-based colour as a stain or dye, in which case what we are starting off with is more important, just like cotton, silk or nylon in the textile dyeing world.
With no ammonia and the lowest PPD content and no added perfume, it is perfect for sensitive clients.
MAKEUP AND STYLING
Tania’s makeup style is usually quite natural, complimentary rather than full-face glam. Timing is often an hour for both hair and makeup give or take 15 minutes. Tania is a seasoned makeup artist beginning her career in New York and Chicago working on commercial TV ads, fashion shoots and television shows such as Oprah as well as music videos and indie films.
Up styles and special occasion hair is Tania’s speciality having worked with a huge variety of people and different situations from TV to Bridal to fancy dress. Vintage hairstyles are also available.

Botanik is a small space with one hair chair. You will not find strong chemical odours. Botanik stocks EverEscence, Natulique, Clevercurl and brow products.
